| Alcoholic Dip |
|
 |
Ta Mylelia, which makes a really
beautiful range of traditional Greek meze, pasta and other nifty products on the picturesque island of Mytilene (AKA Lesvos), has added another
dip to its line. Not for teetollers,
the new dip combines finely grated Feta with roasted eggplants,
fresh basil and ouzo. Just add bread.

| Bitter Orange Oil |
|
 |
Biolea, makers of certified stone ground, organic extra virgin olive oil is introducing a wild, new flavored oil called Nerantzi. Pressed with carefully harvested Koroneiki
olives, this new bitter orange-
flavored oil gives off an aroma of
orange blossoms and leaves
a flavorful tingle of orange rind on the palate. It is particularly well-
suited for marinades, though it is lovely as a salad oil as well. Biolea is represented by Demeter’s Pantry in the US, which offers many other wonderful Greek products, including the Epikouria editorial group’s
favorite, pine honey. The oil will be available for tasting at the summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

| Unusual Snacks |
|
 |
Last year Kritis Gi launched a line of wholegrain,
preservative-free breadstick snacks in two distinctive flavors: one with sunflower seeds and another with extra virgin olive oil and anise. Now they are adding several other products
to this unusual line. These include a breadstick flavored
with a traditional Cretan cheese somewhat like Graviera,
another one flavored with paprika
and a sweet version made with raisins.
